Yep. It was a great weekend! We opened the print shop at Albany Days and visitors were able to try their hand at printing a variety of items, but the main event was coasters this year. I quickly acquired two talented, young apprentices, Rowan and Cody, pictured above who helped me keep the presses rolling and the conversation interesting. Not that we needed help in that department. Many interesting characters passed through: monkey girl, a cicada wearing boy who knows more about life than most adults, two bickering middle-aged men and my former speech professor whom I had not seen since 1999! Thanks to the board of Albany Days for letting me demo this gratifying and fun trade and to many others that helped me get things ready: mainly, my Dad, my Mom, Uncle Jim, Rowan, Cody and Chris. This is the most gratifying kind of work I’ve ever done. Too bad it is over. Until next year. I’m already dreaming up what we might do.
